It is essential for all of us to act responsibly at this time, but we also understand the importance of offering a degree of normality to our daily lives.

The year has started well for pub group, Oakman Inns, who picked up two awards on Thursday night . Ranked for a fifth year in the top 30 of the Sunday Times 100 Best Companies to Work For 2020, they are this year’s highest rated multi-site pub company with the top accolade of three stars. The awards continued to flow at annual The Casual Dining Awards, where Oakman won the annual Sustainable Operator Award for their non-stop effort to become environmentally better in everything they do. The company was also Highly Recommended in The Best Pub or Bar Brand of the Year, a recognition of the results of an effective, well-trained, and highly motivated team and a desire to be the best can have on a business.

There can be few things more dispiriting for a child at Christmas than being stuck in hospital over the festive period. Local pub group, Oakman Inns, resolved to lift that gloom, and for the last two weeks, has been bringing a little festive fun to those kids.

Each of the 24 pubs has set up a community collection point for neighbours and customers to drop off unwrapped toys, books and other permitted gifts which Oakman’s staff have been delivering to each pub’s local children’s ward in time for Christmas.

The Oakman Inns team is hoping that their pizza recipe, using slow-proved dough, traditional Neapolitan ingredients and skills honed at the red-hot mouth of the pizza oven, will see them win one of the awards from the three prized titles: Best Technical Pizza; Pizza Chef of the Year and National Pizza of the Year.

On Sunday 20th October 2019, over 600 children will be playing in one of the UK’s largest independent sponsored Minis & Juniors Rugby Festivals, the Oakman Cup, at Allianz Park, home of Saracens.

Following its sympathetic refurbishment, over 200 residents, community leaders and Farnham businesses discovered that The Lost Boy was alive and well in Downing Street’s very own ‘Neverland’ - and was serving great food and drink on its opening night last week.

Last month Oakman Inns sponsored one of their employees, Joseph Cox, to undertake a mammoth adventure known as Endeavour India. Part of the Endeavour Series, Endeavour India is a gruelling action-packed race covering all terrains through the Himalaya’s and raises funds for charity.

Oakman Inns and Restaurants are proud to be partnering with Scannappeal for the inaugural ScannaRide 100, a charity sportive, raising funds to support the Bucks MRI Appeal.

Last week, regulars and local business owners joined the team at The Beech House in Beaconsfield to celebrate its reopening, following a major building project over the last few months.

Following a substantial investment by its new owners, Oakman Inns, and several months closure, Prestwood’s village pub, The Polecat Inn, led by new General Manager, Damien Hughes, re-opened its doors for the busy Easter Weekend.
