Oakman Inns bought The Royal Foresters in Ascot in December 2016. Building work began in the autumn of 2017 and finally opened in July 2018. It was the most challenging projects that Oakman Inns has ever undertaken. Our 240 day time lapse shows the work and restoration behind the new Royal Foresters - reborn from the rubble.

Step through the front door, beautifully framed by the ancient wisteria, into the fully restored original bar, with two period fireplaces adding that traditional pub feel. Through the glazed extension sits a spacious restaurant boasting an open kitchen, a hallmark of Oakman Inns, where guests can observe the chefs creating their meals using only the freshest, highest quality, responsibly sourced ingredients.

Oakman Inns’ CEO recognised by major hospitality industry award as the pub group announces their 25th acquisition

On Tuesday night, 3rd July, at London’s Grosvenor House, Oakman Inns’ CEO, Peter Borg-Neal, was recognised with a Pub & Bar Award at the 35th Annual ‘Cateys’, one of the hospitality industry’s highest awards for pub operators. The same day Peter had agreed the acquisition of Oakman’s 25th pub site, Lock Fyne in Farnham, Surrey, which will be re-named The Lost Boy, referencing Peter Pan’s connection with Farnham.

Royal Foresters Assists Hall Grove School Raise in Excess of £15k for Tanzania Primary School

Ahead of opening their doors at the end of July, Royal Foresters in Ascot supported Hall Grove School with their fundraising Jabulani to raise money for Miwaleni Primary School in rural Tanzania. The project was founded by Hall Grove old boy, Paul Jameson who visited the area and was inspired to raise vital funds for the school after he was diagnosed with MND. Following this diagnosis he began a huge fund raising project to help change the lives the others.

Oakman Inns Determined to End Their Consumption of Single Use Plastics by Earth Day 2019

It has been widely acknowledged that Oakman Inns was the first multiple-site pub group to end the use of plastic straws across their 20 plus units. This initiative, which marked Earth Day 2017, set the example across the hospitality industry leading to the removal of millions of plastic straws from the environment. The company has also joined the REFILL scheme where anyone can come into an Oakman Inn and have their water bottle refilled free of charge.
