Oakman Inns’ very own family-friendly day out, Swanbourne Music Festival, returns for 2019 with headline artist The Zutons.

Swanbourne (near Milton Keynes and Aylesbury) is home to the event, which is now in its third year. Affectionately known as ‘Betseyfest’ by local fans, the rapidly-growing music festival takes place behind The Betsey Wynne pub, part of Oakman Inns.

Oakman Inns runs Swanbourne Music Festival, which is a family-friendly day out, with a host of different entertainment and various activities which will appeal to all tastes and ages. Those under the age of 10 can attend free of charge, which makes the event a great value bank holiday activity.

Legendary Liverpool band The Zutons has reformed following a break from the music scene and after 15 years have announced a series of 2019 tour dates to perform their seminal album ‘Who Killed The Zutons’. Many of their shows are already sold out.

The Zutons will be supported by diverse bands and performers, who will bring music and entertainment to suit all tastes on the day. Further details will be announced by organisers in the coming weeks.

Rohan Aldcroft, Area Manager for Oakman Inns is looking forward to Swanbourne Music Festival 2019: “Last year we were challenged by extremely poor weather, but the amazing crowd donned their wellies and waved their brollies whilst dancing to Scouting for Girls. It was a great atmosphere and we hope we can build on things to put on an even bigger and better show in 2019.

We’re continuously improving the festival and taking on board visitor feedback. We’re delighted to have secured such a big headline act in the Zutons, with more announcements to come.”

A wide variety of food concessions will be serving up delicious food, including gluten free, vegan and vegetarian options. Local stall holders will also be providing activities and services, such as festival glitter face paint, giant inflatables and other interesting offerings. Of course, some large bars will also be operating to quench visitors’ thirst.

This event is also proud to be fully sustainable and works hard to reduce its carbon footprint. Single-use plastics are not permitted on site and all food vendors are asked to use recycled, recyclable and/or biodegradable packaging. All drinks from festival bars are served in fully biodegradable cups. If festival goers want to buy water (instead of using the water tanks made available for refills), it’s even canned water, rather than bottled. Visitors are also encouraged to make use of the various recycling waste facilities provided.

Once again, Betseyfest will be fundraising for local charities. These good causes are yet to be decided and charities interested in partnering with the event are invited to apply to betseyfest@oakmaninns.co.uk.

Tickets are on sale now. Early Bird ticket prices are only available for the first 1,000 tickets:
